Proteus Diving Helmet

The Helmet is actually 11lbs lighter than the Genesis (24lbs in total). The face port is 2" closer than the Genesis/Abyss which means that the face port is actually ½" away from the forehead.

Proteus Diving Helmet

The regulator seat adjustment can be done externally with air on it to allow the best possible performance from the regulator. The Regulator (except for the regulator seat adjustment as covered) and Side block are basically the same as the Genesis and have the same service kits.

The majority of the other parts are the same as the Genesis except the face port, face port retainer and bent tube.

Genesis Diving Helmet

The Genesis achieves outstanding results in all of the requirements for the standards below, from breathing performance to field of view. After several years of research and development the Genesis was produced to be the best performing Diving Helmet of its kind, with distinctive and superior safety features. This diving helmet has full CE approval to 60 meters in both standard and double exhaust models.

Genesis Diving Helmet

Passes all tests to the following standards:
EN250:1993/2000
NPD/DEN Guidelines
DIN 58642:1998
NAWR

Breathing Performance: Single Exhaust - Air at 60 meters 90 Litres RMV = 1.13 Joules/Litre (limit 3 joules/litre)

Heliox- At 500 meters 90 RMV = 2.10 Joules/Litres

Helmet Shell - Impact resistant, hand laid glass reinforced resin construction for maximum protection of the divers head.

Neck Ring Assembly - The self opening and closing neck ring safety system has been designed to stop accidental loss of seal or helmet. In case of neck injury, the helmet can be removed in one easy operation without further stress to the diver's neck.

Regulator - Balanced valve with adjustable sensitivity control for variations in umbilical pressure with the highest gas flow and the lowest work of breathing figures ever achieved in a demand diving helmet.

Bail Out Side Block - Equipped with integral bail out valve to reduce the risk of valve damage or loss of valve. Faceplate de-mist valve and high flow non-return valve for surface gas supply.

Face Plate - Made from shatterproof polycarbonate provides at least 20% more visibility than other windows.

Exhaust Mouldings - Keeps the exhaust bubbles away from the diver's visible area and reduces low frequency bubble noise.

Oral Nasal Mask - Keeps CO² levels well below CE limits.

Communication - Communication facilities are provided in 2-wire configuration with 4-pin male connector. Binding posts are optional.

Hat Liner - Comfortable washable rip-stop nylon covered foam, resistant to fungal growth.

Abyss Diving Helmet

After several years of research and development, the ABYSS II was designed and manufactured to be the best performing Reclaim Helmet of its kind, with distinctive and superior safety features. The ABYSS II Reclaim Helmet is approved to a max. depth of 500 metres.

Abyss Diving Helmet

The ABYSS II is based on the GENESIS II demand diving helmet but is fitted with a special gas reclaim valve which is attached to the helmet below the regulator. The regulator and reclaim valve combination achieves outstanding Work of Breathing results and exceeds the performance requirements of the following standards;

EN250: 1993/2000, NPD/Den guidelines, DIN 58642:1998, NORSOK U101:1999, NAWR

Heliox WOB: 1.5% at 500 metres, 90 RMV=2.34 Joules/litres

Regulator: Balanced valve with adjustable sensitivity control for variations in umbilical pressure with the highest gas flow and the lowest work of breathing figures ever achieved in a demand diving helmet. With a gas supply pressure of only 10 bar over bottom for all depths there is no large increase in the work of breathing when switching to bailout as with other systems. The high performance demand regulator can be used in normal open circuit mode or in closed circuit mode as a gas reclaim valve.

Helium Return Line Valve: A simple and reliable valve that has proved to be less sensitive than other valves using only two return line setting 15 to 80 mtrs = -15 mtrs, 80 to 500 mtrs = -20 mtrs.
The ABYSS Gas reclaim valve assembly can be dismantled by a trained technician and the helmet converted to the Genesis II demand helmet configuration if required.

Bailout Side Block: The ABYSS II is equipped with integral bailout valve to eliminate bail-out valve NPT thread failure, a faceplate de-mist valve and a high flow non-return valve for surface gas supply.

Lightweight Camera handle: an optional lightweight camera mounting handle to optimise balance when heavy cameras and lights are used
